A ton will change in the next couple of months, but he still won’t be very interested in toys. I suggest maybe just a stuffed animal or something that lights up and plays music might grab his attention.

You can get books — lots of books. Especially ones with photographs of faces (newborns are riveted by pictures of people), and especially ones that you want to read forty-two times a week for the next three years. An anthology of readable poetry would be a sound investment…

Little hand held toys or rattles, You could even get a toy that he can grow into. Anything really, This year is really about you and what you need for him.

You can get him carseat toys if you don’t have any. My son didn’t care much about them until he was 2.5 months old.
You can get him one of those toys that he lays under with toys . . (Brain block, I can’t remember what it’s called).
There are quite a few things that a two month old can use as opposed to a 2 week old!

I second books, lots of books. You will get years of use out of good board books, and you can never have too many.

    hi,
im due in a few weeks which will make my son a month old at xmas i have a daughter shes 3 and i still want to get him something even though i know he wont need for anything. as my daughter will ask where his presents from santa are??
so ive decided to get him books which he’ll grow into and make a nice addition to his empty bookshelves. no matter what you get him he wont have a clue and will be to young. so im going to buy some baby toys which he will play with soon enough that way i have got them for when he needs them. but iv still got him something. no matter what you get it wont be a waste of money as he will grow into it. i done this with my daughter who was 3 months old at her first xmas. xx

Get him car seat toys, crib toys, or a playmat. A good idea is you can go online to Wal-Mart.com or Target.com and search for toys for his age group, then click like best sellers or mothers favorites. Very helpful. BTW we knew my son was going to get a LOT for his first Christmas and we’d have to take it all home so we didn’t even get him much. We thought we could wait and see what he gets from family then hit the sells after Christmas using our gift cards lol. Good luck!

perhaps a crib toy- something that attaches to the crib that lights up, plays music, or moves. it will grow with him, and most have buttons or such that baby can play with when they get older.

My son is going to be 5 and a half months at christmas, i’m thinking of things to get him that will do him from 5 and a half months to a year old – his first birthday.

I’m getting him things like a high chair, baby walker, teddys, rattles, toys, push alongs, teethers, clothes and anything little that i can pick up for him that he might be interested in.

When my son was about 8-12 weeks old he wasn’t really interested in anything to be honest, i started to get him some rattles, a few small teddy bears for him to hold or at least try to hold, a playgym so he could lie on the floor and kick and he got really interested in his bouncy chair, he loves that.

You can buy him a couple things that he will need as he grows. [I.e- Booster seat for the car, high chair shoes, etc.] You can get him a stocking and stuff it with binkies, rattles, and such not. You could also get him a Christmas 2009 bear or go to Build a Bear Workshop and make him a Christmas 2009 bear. [They usually have a sale around Christmas.] You can also get him a first Christmas outfit; there is some pretty darn cute little outfits out there! I just bought my baby girl her first Christmas outfit and I won’t have her until 6/December. [: There is so much you can get for him if you just take time to put something together yourself. It will be hard from the flusters of having a new baby but a small little present to ease your feeling bad emotion would be just fine. Good luck! [:

The one thing my son absolutely loved from about 7 weeks on was a play gym with toys hanging off it. The one i have has a bear that plays tunes when you pull a strng and he still loves it now. You can put different toys on it too for variety. Toby still loves it now and he is 5 months.

Also anything that plays music was a hit with my boy. I’m so excited about his first christmas too!

some fun thing for him to watch he will be very interested in looking at things . My daughter is 12 weeks now and a few weeks ago when she was probably 9 weeks i bought this play jungle thing that she lays under and theres fun stuff hanging from it and a thing that plays music she loves it and loves to look at stuff. Also loves this big puppet thing htat i have she loves to watch it. And she loves when i read to her and show her pictures in the book it is funny whenever she sees the cow, i think because it is black and white, she smiles and makes cooing noises it is adorable. So maybe some cute books you can read to him, or the play jungle thing i forget what it is called it was 40 dollars at walmart, and things that light up or make noises :)
